Welcome from the Head of Early Years

Please come and visit Leicester Preparatory School for a warm personal welcome where you can meet our professionals and witness our happy children.

Our youngest pupils have the ground floor of the school which is dedicated to their provision. Within the department our staff create a stimulating and exciting environment where the children can feel safe and explore the world around them. During their daily routine, teachers plan activities to stimulate our little learners and implement teaching which reflects our high expectations.

The pre-prep department is made up of two bright classrooms with two accessible outdoor areas and a newly renovated, invigorating early years library which was supported by the schools parents association. As well as the children having their own area, they have access to the whole school, it is important they make relationships and learn from older peers who lead by example. A family atmosphere is encouraged at the school, where our youngest children have a sense of belonging.

Our pre-prep children are offered a wealthy curriculum which goes beyond standard education for their age. The children have interactive sessions of French, Music and Physical Education, taught consistently by external specialist teachers. We also take regular trips in to our local community and provide wider experiences for our children to learn from, these outings are created with intentions based on a current educational focus.
Our early years department prides itself on our five highly qualified dedicated teachers, who aspire to develop our children in to well rounded individuals, by providing quality care and learning.

We believe that by starting your child’s school journey here at Leicester Prep instils ambition for their futures where we can fulfil their potentials for their primary years.
I would be delighted to meet with you and discuss further any individual queries.
