Leicester Preparatory School and Bertie’s Nursery were delighted to take the main school and nursery to Conkers, a discovery and adventure park in the heart of the National Forest.
The day started early, with students singing songs on the coaches, very excited for the action-packed day ahead.
The pupils began the day with an exploration of the indoor and outdoor facilities, such as rope swings, tunnels, slides, mazes, climbing frames, and many more! They also persuaded the teachers to get involved, with Miss Saunders even doing the barefoot walk!
The children also enjoyed watching an adaptation of Robin Hood in the 4D cinema!
The immersive show brought the story to life, with the children feeling effects such as wind and rain as the adventure unfolded. It was a fantastic way to engage all of their senses and make the experience even more memorable.
The interactive nature of the film captured the children’s imaginations from start to finish, and there were plenty of smiles and laughter throughout.
Towards the end of the day, the children met with a park ranger to undertake their final activity.
They were tasked with building a scooter from scratch, following a manual and using their problem-solving skills to assemble its parts.
This activity encouraged pupils to use their imagination and to work as a team!
The pupils worked well in their respective teams, and finished the activity off by nominating a team member to take part in a running race to decide the winner!
